Lemonade Stand Party

To celebrate my daughter’s second birthday I decided to go with the Lemonade Stand theme. You can see my inspiration board here, where I got a lot of the ideas. For the color scheme I considered yellow and pink, yellow and green or different shades of yellow. But after spotting a gorgeous tablecloth at Home Goods I finally settled for yellow and green, and decided to add some kraft paper for a more rustic look. When choosing the color scheme of a party I usually start with one piece I love the most and go from there.

When I’m making invitations I always try to run from the typical rectangle and envelope. So I made this mason jar filled with lemonade (and party info!) and then just added a straw for an extra 3D element.

I really wanted to have the party outside at the picnic shelter we have in our neighborhood, but the weather had been awful, raining everyday, and even when it wasn’t raining it was just so humid that no one would have had a good time out. So we brought the party inside our apartment. And I ended up not building the actual lemonade stand I wanted to because of the lack of space. But I still think everything turned out really cute. We did have some space for them to run around before all the guests arrived!

I decided to make two different tables, one with salty stuff like sandwiches, chips and popcorn and another one with desserts like limeade ice cream pie, glazed lemon poppy seed muffin, lemon cupcakes, lemon crumb, lemon bars, key lime mini cheesecakes, lime mousse,  lime coconut macaroon and traditional Brazilian desserts – chocolate and coconut little balls (brigadeiro and beijinho).

If we were to have the birthday party outside I would have put a little stand together, but since we didn’t I used my kitchen counter to place the different kinds of homemade lemonade. I made regular lemonade, lavender lemonade, sparkling pineapple lemonade and mango peach lemonade. They were a big hit. No left over!

And of course, no one can go home from a lemonade stand without taking some lemonade home.

    1. Hi Jessica, thank you for stopping by! I am definitely coming back :) I’m so glad you like my blog! It’s a newborn! hahaha since my daughter was turning two, I pretty much decided on the party theme. All of the different kinds of lemonade was a hit with the adults! And now my older daughters want me to make them a lemonade stand so they can earn some money! I guess we’ll have to wait until it’s summer again … or we’ll have to have a hot cocoa stand … ooh that gives me ideas …

    1. Hi Amanda, I would honored to be featured on your blog! This is so exciting! I started my blog this week and I’m still getting the hang of this. I have seen people who have a dedicated post or page for the parties they link to every week and I have seen people who list those on their post. I tried doing both, but after a lot of typing I decided to have my own “Party Page” and link each post to that page. What do you do? And what do you think I should do? I don’t know if you have a button but I could use it and say this post was featured on Serenity Now and place your button on it. Sorry about the rambling …
